Consultation

Complete one of our online forms or give the friendly team a call on 0800 BOSSED. We'll get a summary of the issue you're experiencing, and then we'll assign you to an Employment Relations Manager who is best suited to assist. They will then be in touch within one working day to discuss the matter in further detail, and provide some advice on your situation going foward.

Settlement Discussions with Employer

We'll contact your employer on your behalf, and dicuss options to resolve your workplace problem/s. This might include attending a disciplinary meeting, negotiating an exit agreement or negotiating a settlement.

3

Mediation

If we are unable to reach a settlement with the employer, a request for Mediation will be filed with Mediation Services, who are operated through the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment. It can take up to 6 weeks to secure a mediation date, but the Employment Relations Manager will ensure you are kept up to date during this time.

4

Employment Relations Authority (ERA)

If we are unable to reach a settlement during mediaton, or the employer refuses to attend mediation, the next step in the process is to file with the Employment Relations Authority. Your Employment Relations Manager will discuss what is required further with you, but it can take 6-12months to secure an Investigation Meeting, and evidence will need to be gathered and filed prior to that meeting.

Once the Investigation Meeting is comeplete, the ERA will look over the details of the matter, and provide a determination.
