Employment Relations Manager
Sarah, one of bossed’s talented Employment Relations Managers, holds a degree in Business Studies majoring in Human Resources Management from Massey University. Although she can be described as an HR generalist; Sarah’s real drive is to deliver pragmatic HR and ER solutions that deliver the right results for businesses. Since joining the bossed team, she has enjoyed providing advice and support to clients to resolve employment relations issues. Outside of Sarah’s ER experience, her strengths include health and safety, recruitment, restructuring, and leadership coaching.
Sarah started her career on a graduate programme at a steel making business in Australia. Spending time in the corporate, shared services and onsite HR functions, she learnt a lot about unions/industrial relations and restructuring. After returning to NZ, Sarah spent time managing the HR functions for firstly a large manufacturing business and then an entertainment/services business. In the former a key achievement was transitioning the business through a transfer of ownership and IPO and negotiating a revised Collective Agreement. In the latter, a highlight was navigating the business through negotiations and prolonged industrial action as the site became unionised and concluded its first Collective Agreement.
Following a career break to raise children, Sarah returned to the workforce as a highly skilled HR and ER consultant, working with SME owners who see value in the HR function but don’t need a full time HR presence. Operating as a consultant has seen her involvement in the full scope of HR and ER activity. Sarah is based in Auckland but available to assist clients throughout New Zealand.
