Health and Wellbeing
We are all human. Maintaining our health and wellbeing is vital to our ability to function. At bossed we advocate a holistic approach to managing people which includes supporting their mental and physical health. Here are some services we recommend:
Seeing your doctor can be a great place to start if you are thinking about seeking counselling. Your GP can refer you for a set number of free sessions known as brief intervention counselling. You may also be able to ask for disability allowance to assist with further costs if suffering from anxiety or depression. If you have suffered from physical trauma or have a sensitive claim (e.g. sexual abuse) you will have access to free or partially funded sessions through ACC.
There are many private counsellors available in NZ, all you need to do is get in touch and make an appointment if you want to refer yourself rather than go through your GP. You can also contact Family Works a nationwide organisation who offer many different support services including counselling.
Employer EAP Referral
Some employers offer their employees support through an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) such as EAP Services or Vitae. Counselling services are confidential and funded by the employer.
Holistic Massage Therapy
Aroha holistic therapy sessions have been designed to release stress-related tension from the body and mind. Holistic therapy looks at the person being treated as a whole – working to improve their inter-connected mental and physical wellbeing. Holistic therapy may include bodywork, talking, self-care exercises and other therapeutic techniques.
